Week 5 Predictions

Hello everyone, this is one of the once-and-a-while moments I said I would have when I left PA predictions. Last week we saw a shorthanded-cellar dwelling Freedom snatch a point of the top-tier Sexy Poolerz squad. Brit Pool were able to squeeze out a 4-2 win over DS, while LPL thumped BNR and SS avenged that ugly loss to PDZ seasons ago by welcoming them back to IPA with a goose egg, non scrambled.

Money in the Bank [1-2-1] vs Brit Pool [2-1-1]

On the surface this looks like a routine match for Brit Pool, but while the numbers don’t go in MIBs favor, it doesn’t mean it will be a walk in the park for DJ & co. MIB have the talent to squeak out enough points to grab a top 6 spot, and they’ll need to grab those against hit-or-miss teams like BP. BP were able to beat DS last week in a good match, and will need the same type of effort and then some to get past MIB this week. MIB may have had a rough week last week losing to 8bc, but I think Rich brings a full team and keeps this close.

Prediction – 4-2 Brit Pool

Freedom [1-2-1] vs Dead Strokes [1-3-0]

Sure Freedom is back in contention at 6 points, but with 4 of those being free, is that tie a fluke against a inconsistent Sexy Poolerz squad? Freedom have always had trouble with DS and with DS looking like a cellar dwelling team this season, this is Freedoms “break-through” week if they look to become a contender once again in IPA, but a win here for DS puts Freedom in a hole and have DS looking up. DS players as a whole seem to be slumping, and with the recent addition of Travis, Freedom should be able to take this quickly.

Prediction – 4-2 Freedom

8 Ball Crushers [2-2-0] vs Latino Pool Legends [4-0-0]

Ifran, Jan, Nigel, Andy and Sean are all solid players who can compete against LPL, the rest? Not so much. Nigel will need to get it through his noggin that he needs to play here and not give someone “a chance”, because Ant eats “chance” for breakfast and shits it out before he plays a game. LPL have become unbelievably solid under Steve. With Luiz returning to pool not that long ago, Ant coming back from his like 2 week long vacation, and the additions of Andy and Sid to the IPA roster, LPL is disgustingly deep. Beating LPL is possible don’t get me wrong, but doing so is tough. If Nigel is able to get those 5 to the table, he’ll need to play for a tie because reaching for the stars will only allow LPL to come down, sucker punch you and leave you on your back, looking up at the very same stars you thought you were once close too.

Prediction – 4-2 Latino Pool Legends

Sexy Poolerz [2-0-2] vs Straight Shots [2-1-1]

After grabbing points by only having more players then the other team, Pete & co will need to bring their A game against a red hot SS squad. SP has really picked up in activity, and it shows in TNT where they have been the hottest team in the past month, though, that is largely due to the fact SS is out and many of their players have gone to SP, so there may be some familiarity for both sides here. With both sides being 16-8 overall with only a difference of 2 in points, both teams are capable of a big showing and since it’s really hard to predict which kind of SP will show, the safe card will have to be played..

Prediction – 3-3

Break and Run [2-2-0] vs Pool Dragonz [0-4-0]

After a good start, BNR ran into the wall in every ones road known as Latino Pool Legends. Everyone plays them, so it’s nothing to get caught up in, but the fact BNR were once consistently beating such a squad, their recent fall in talent has dropped them from being a favorite, to a team that can, and will win more games than they lose, but it seems it may not be enough anymore. Luckily for them they play PDZ a team they should be able to defeat easily. Charles leads his reborn league back and while they were thumped by SS, BNR shouldn’t take them lightly. Charles is good for a win more often than not and depending on how luck plays out, PDZ may be able to win just enough for some points, but doing so against the likes of Chris, Mike and Jordy can turn out to be too tough.

Prediction – 4-2 Break and Run
