I would like to start off by thanking Mr. Know It All and Mr. Predictor for filling in for me while I was away on vacation, Job well done gentlemen, last week we saw BP take down MIB 4-2 in what can only be described as a tribute to Cubby and PFN as they took a DQ win for a player not having the correct name on ladder at the time of being called which was changed a minute later, LPL handed a goose egg to 8BC as they ran over them 6-0, FR picked up a 6-0 win over a DS no show and BNR picked up a 4-2 win over PDZ as Charles made a crucial mistake in game 6 giving it to Jase who is back with BNR in IPA, and SS narrowly squeaked out a 4-2 win over SP. Now onto this week’s predictions.
Britpool [3-1-1] vs. Freedom [2-2-1]
So is it BP or is it PFN2 as I mentioned above BP took the 4-2 win in a tribute to Cubby and PFN, I have a feeling that DJ didn’t act alone in this disgrace of a DQ as Drew had to be pissed off with his pathetic game, I think BP would be better off keeping Drew on the bench so he can stick to being an admin as it’s the only thing he is good at, DJ taking the win regardless of the influence from Drew or not was just a sad thing to watch as BP a once sporting side has turned to cheap tactics just to get a win. Will PFN2 show up this week against FR or will it be the BP side we all know and love, seeing as its against FR and the friendship Petey and Drew have I expect to see the sporting side of BP out this week as Drew and Petey have never been tempted to even take a cheap win off the opposing team. FR have been very rocky this season as their 2 wins have come from a bye and a DS no show and a lucky shorthanded draw vs. a weak SP side and with both their losses being dominate with a 1-5 vs. both MIB and LPL we haven’t really had a chance to see what FR is capable of this season but this week they will no doubt need a full team in order to compete with a interesting BP side, BP has showed shorthanded once and still managed to pick up a 4-2 win so you know when their players are on form they are a force to be reckoned with and not knowing what to expect from an FR side who has had a slow start to this season I have to give this one to BP in what may be a game 6 decider.
4-2 BP
Latino Pool Legends [5-0-0] vs. Money in the Bank [1-3-1]
If LPL keep up their winning ways they will no doubt be the IPA Season 5 champions as my rival the oracle is already referring to them as, the likes of Steve, Daru, Ant and Tino are almost a sure win any given week giving LPL everything they need and them some to steamroll over any team they come up against, this week they play an MIB side that seems to have slipped into the same routine as we have come to expect not winning a match since they crushed FR in week 1 and things aren’t getting any better for them this week, Rich along with the other MIB players have some talent and heart but that will only get you so far amongst the teams here in IPA, I can seem MIB getting a little luckier here then 8BC did last week although Nigel claims it very easily could have been a 3-3 draw, sorry Nigel but when you’re facing LPL nothing is ever easy and they will prove that once again this week as they storm over MIB.
5-1 LPL
Deadstrokes [1-4-0] vs. Straight Shots [3-1-1]
DS no showed last week giving freedom their 2nd easy 6-0 win and with talks of DS withdrawing from IPA I doubt they will show this week either, so who will replace DS if they do in fact withdraw, I don’t even know as I’ve yet to hear anything from the rumor mill other than that TC is interested in coming back to IPA but it seems the surge of activity they had after mike left as admin has come to a screeching halt with his return TC is looking like a ghost town once again so with no probable replacements let’s hope DS show this week and give SS a challenge rather than the probable free win.
6-0 SS
Pool Dragonz [0-5-0] vs. 8 Ball Crushers [2-3-0]
PDZ could of very easily got their 1st set of points on the board last week with a 3-3 draw but a crucial mistake by Charles near the end of game 6 gave the game right back to BNR for them to take it 4-2. I have to quote Nigel here from his post in the IPA forum “Much closer than the score suggests (predictors take note!) Ever seen a match when NOTHING goes right for one team? ^ This was it.... could so easily have been 3-3 with just a slither of fortune for 8BC... oh well lol :)” well the fact is its Yahoo Pool and a game can change with one shot such as Charles vs. Jase in game 6 last week were it was indeed one shot that cost PDZ the points, don’t get me wrong 8BC have some quality players but there is never an easy anything in yahoo pool and I think PDZ will prove that again this week in a shocking upset as they put their 1st points on the board and a full 4 at that.
4-2 PDZ (it’s been awhile so maybe I’m off my rocker but gooooooooo underdogs)
Sexy Poolerz [2-1-2] vs. Break and Run [3-2-1]
Here we have what we thought would be 2 of the top contending teams going against each other in a must win situation if they want a chance at getting back near the top, with what looks like LPL having the #1 spot all locked up the main thing to be playing for is that #2 seed and a 1st round bye in the playoffs and that’s what all teams will be hoping for other then LPL of course, The oracle claims that SP took a “Cubby” win by dqing a player who wasn’t on the IPA ladder but the reality of it is, RULES ARE RULES AND IT’S THE CAPTAINS RESPONSIBILITY TO CHECK, SS failed to make sure their player was elig to play last week and SP caught the fact that the player wasn’t signed up, this is a prime example of captains doing their job now whether it was Adam or Pete who caught this I’m not sure but a job well done on living up to your captains duties, you won’t be getting any dq wins this week for that reason unless Josh shows up again and still isn’t on the ladder but seeing as that is highly unlikely and BNR looking to push their way to the top I see this going their way as SP haven’t been able to put together a solid run so far this season
4-2 BNR
