IPA 6 Week One Predictions

In weeks one through 4 we have all cross group matches which should be fun to see how it plays out, it’s the 1st time IPA has gone this route and it follows in the same schedule format as pro, so kudos to Petey on his inspiration to fellow Canadian Drew and changing things up a bit now onto predictions.

Dead Strokes vs. Freedom
So this 1st match up pits my top predicted teams to their respective groups, meaning we are bound for one hell of a match up here. James will be looking to start off strong against the FR power house, but this will all depend on who makes it to the table in this match, with 3 of the likely players being Chele, Carl and James himself they have a good shot of picking up 3 wins with the home team advantage. FR lead as always by Petey always seem to surprise me and change things up, I predicted FR to top the red group because they can have one of the best teams possible when players like Matt and Trav show and are on their game a long with the other players Petey will bring they can be unstoppable but will they show here or consistently?
Lucky for me this is IPA and I can go with a 3-3 draw

Pool Dragonz vs. Straight Shots
DJ led Britpool to the season title last season here in IPA and will be looking to do it this season with PDZ. The additions made to the PDZ team this season with BP being out of it can only benefit PDZ as the key players they have picked up bring some much needed experience to the team. Nigel will look to make an impact in the season opener so I expect that he will try to bring his better players and he will need them as well if they want to start this season off strong, SS have been struggling recently and need to kick things into gear or PDZ will run rough shot in this one.
4-2 PDZ in what should be a fun match

Sexy Poolerz vs. Streak Breakerz
So this match pits who I’ve predicted at the bottom of each group against each other which only means one thing, this is good news for one team and really bad news for the other as it makes the season that much tougher, oh wait this is IPA so with the way SP have been struggling in recent weeks and SB being new on the scene.
Much like in the DS vs. FR match I’m lucky I can go with a 3-3 draw

Explicit Ballers vs. Big Dogs
Ok so with the late entry of BD replacing the last minute withdrawing of EPC knowing EB has a talented team in UIC Diamond Division and BD are at the bottom of the UIC Emerald Division.
6-0 EB... Prove me wrong BD

Good Luck all in the season opener, I hope you enjoy reading these predictions and I hope that as the season progresses I will get a little better and more entertaining with them as I see what the teams bring to the table. Remember these predictions are just for fun and should not be taken to heart and I always look forward to being proven wrong; most importantly remember to have fun

IPA makes it's return and so do I

Well I made a return for UIC so I guess I’m best off to make my return here as well considering I’ll have an easier go here than in UIC seeing as here I only have 4 matches to predict each week and only two teams I really know nothing about in Streak Breakerz and Explicit Ballers, so IPA has gone back to the blue and red group format meaning a 10 week season rather than a 14 week season, now onto my preseason rankings.

Blue Group

1st – Dead Strokes – Chele and James will be looking to show what DS is made of and in this group they are my favourites to win it, this will all depend on the players that show each week, knowing IPA is too early for the likes of Roy and Ashton may hinder their chances but I believe DS has enough depth that it shouldn’t much matter.

2nd – Pool Dragonz – PDZ led now by DJ and Drew will look to prove some dominance in this group and start putting PDZ on the map with some big wins, we have seen some key players from the old BritPool league follow over to PDZ with the merger between the two leagues and its one I can only assume will boost last season’s plate winners to some extra fame in the ypool world.

3rd – Explicit Ballers – While I don’t know what they will bring to the table they are one of the most active leagues currently in ypool, I know this doesn’t say much as we have seen other active leagues fall flat on their face when it comes to interleagues but EB does appear to have some talent in their core and only time will tell.

4th – Sexy Poolerz – Now you may ask why I would predict SP below EB when I don’t know very much about EB but with what I do know about SP and the struggle they have been having in interleagues as of late it doesn’t take a brain surgeon to know they are going to struggle even in this group if they don’t turn things around.

Red Group

1st – Freedom – The pressure is on you here Petey, granted Fr didn’t have the greatest regular season in IPA 5 you guys turned it around into a Cinderella story as you made playoffs and walked through everyone to take home the championship, I expect big things from Fr this season even in what some would say is a much tougher group than the blue.

2nd – Straight Shots – SS will be looking to start this season off with a jump rather than their usual slow start because a slow start here is going to make it awfully tough to stay in contention in this 10 week season of IPA 6, look for one of the best captains in the game in Nigel to kick this one off with a bang but struggle when it matters most.

3rd – Streak Breakerz – Putting SB here merely because I know nothing at all about them and this could prove to be a long 10 weeks depending on the players that they have, I know they won their 1st UIC match 5-0 against some league called Big Dogs, but does anyone even know who they are? Good Luck in proving me wrong.

4th - Big Dogs - bottom of the barrel in uic and with late notice of the entry of BD dunno what else to say for now... prove me wrong.

I know these preseason predictions are rather bland basic and boring but I hope you enjoy the read anyway and week 1 predictions will be up some time before the start of season, Best of luck to all teams and remember most importantly have fun.
